Iron Man Quick-Review
Positive:
-Robert Downey Jr. is perfectly cast for the role of Tony Stark. He's cocky, brilliant, and rich, but still manages to be instantly likeable.
-The suit is badass. A lot of work was out into the design of it to make it believable. Aside from the fictional arc reactor powering it.
-Iron Man isn't afraid to kill his enemies.
-Has all the amusing mishaps that go along with origin stories.
-Fantastic action sequences.
-Doesn't mess with the source material too much, from what I know (Wikipedia :-P).
Negative:
-None of the other characters are nearly as interesting as Stark. The villains are very two-dimensional.
-The Iron Monger isn't the most creative final boss. He's just a bigger Iron Man.
-Action scenes are a bit on the short side.
-Tacked-on romance sidestory.
-The amount of testosterone in the movie may be a turn-off to female viewers.
-The inevitable sequels are going to milk the franchise to death.
Other:
-Jeff Bridges looks weird bald.
-The premise for the new Incredible Hulk movie, where the Hulk fights a bigger Hulk (The Abomination), looks uncomfortably similar.
-The movie theater (Pacific, Valley Plaza, #2) had some technical issues, which was somewhat disappointing for opening day. There were several bursts of audio static on a few of the reels, and the image was improperly zoomed, displaying a few feet over the sides and top of the screen.
